Crochet Terms (US Terminology):
mr: Magic Ring
sc: Single Crochet
slst: Slip Stitch
dc: Double Crochet
We will work in spiral i.e we will not end each round with slst. So we will need a stitch marker to identify the first stitch for that round.
Round1: Magic Ring, 6sc around the Magic Ring (6sts)
Do not work slst start round2 right away. Mark 1st stitch with a stitch marker.
Round2: 2sc on each stitch around (12sts)
Round3: 1sc in one st and 2sc in the next st around (18sts)
Round4: 1sc in two sts and 2sc in the next st around (24sts)
Round5: 1sc on each st around (24sts)
Round6: 1sc in three sts and 2sc in the next st around (30sts)
Round7-10: 1sc on each st around (30sts)
Round11: 1sc in three sts and sc2together in next 2sts around (24sts)
Round12: 1sc in two sts and sc2together in next 2sts around (18sts)
Round13: 1sc in one st and sc2together in next 2sts around (12sts)
Attach safety eyes between 6thand 7th round and place them 4-5 sts apart.Now stuff the octopus head using polyfil
Round14: sc2together in next 2sts around (6sts)slst and sew the opening
Magic Ring 8sc around the Magic Ring slst on the first stitch. *Ch12, 2dc on 2nd st from the hook,3dc on the next st. Repeat 2dc on the next st and 3dc on the next. Slst on the next st*.Repeat *to* 7 more times. Leave a long tail, Fasten off.
Now sew the tentacles to the base of octopus head using tapestry needle. Tuck in all the odd ends inside the amigurumi with the blunt tip of the crochet hook!
Now add mouth detain using sewing needle and black crochet thread.
MagicRing,ch3,3dc,ch3,slst,ch3,3dc,ch3,slst.Tighten the magic ring and secure it with a knot. Now roll the yarn 2,3 times on the center of the bow and knot and leave a long tail and fasten off.
Attach this bow to the octopus head.
