It’s Summer Time and I spend most of the time on Amigurumis and I actually enjoy making them!.
Here’s a super simple and easy, no sew amigurumi whale pattern that you’ll enjoy making!. It’s end of school year and you can make plenty of these for end of year school gifts!
Materials Used:
Yarn: Bernat Baby Velvet
Colors: Bleached Aqua, White
4mm Crochet Hook
Scissors
Safety Eyes
Stitch Marker
Polyfil
If you are using a regular acrylic yarn use 3.5 mm Crochet Hook!
Crochet Terms(US Terminology):
mr: Magic Ring
ch: Chain
st(s): Stich(es)
sc: Single Crochet
sc2together: Single Crochet Two Together
slst: Slip Stitch
flo: Front Loop
hdc: Half Double Crochet
trc: Treble Crochet
Crochet Pattern:
We work in a spiral, so we need Stitch marker to identify the first stitch of each round.
With Color Bleached Aqua, work
Round1: Magic Ring,6sc on the magic ring (6sts)
Round2: 2sc on each st around(12sts)
Round3: 1sc on one st and 2sc on the next st around(18sts)
Round4: 1sc each in 2sts and 2sc on the next st around(24sts)
Round5-9: 1sc on each st around(24sts)
Round10: (working only on the flo)(Slst, ch2,2hdc) on the flo of next st. 1sc each on the flo of next 5sts, (Slst,ch3,1trc) on the flo of next st, (1trc,ch3,Slst) on the flo of the next st, 1sc each on the flo of next 5sts, (Slst, ch2,2hdc) on the flo of next st. 1sc on the flo of next 10 sts.
Change the yarn color to White,
Round11: 1sc on the blo of next st, 1sc on next 5sts, 1sc each on the blo of next 2sts, 1sc each on the next 5sts, 1sc on the blo of next st, 1sc each on the next 10 sts(24sts)
Round12: 1sc each on 2sts and sc2together on next 2sts around(18sts)
Round13: 1sc each in one st and sc2together on next 2sts around(12sts)
Attach the safety eyes and stuff with poly fil!
Round14: sc2together on 2sts around (6sts)
Close the opening!
I made a bunch of these whales for my daughter’s end of year classroom gift for her class mates!
