Now let’s see how to crochet this child size bubble wrap fingerless mittens!
Materials Used:
Yarn: I love this yarn(Hobby Lobby)
Color: Bella Donna
Approximately 70 yards for Child Size Fingerless Mittens
Crochet Hook: 5mm (H Hook) (or use the hook that obtains the specified gauge)
Scissors
Gauge:
Using Size 4 Yarn and 5mm Crochet Hook work,
Row1: ch13, 1hdc on the 4th ch from the and 1hdc on each ch till the end.
Row2: ch2 turn(considered as 1st hdc), 1hdc on each till the end (11hdc sts)
Row3-7: Repeat Row2. Fasten off
It should measure 3.4” (inches) length and 3” (inches) height

We will be working on a stitch called as a Pebble Stitch which is a regular Puff Stitch except that it is worked on the Wrong Side(WS)
Pebble Stitch: * yo, insert the hook in the stitch and pull up loop, * repeat from * to * twice, yo pull through all the 7 loops.
Skill Level: Beginner
Crochet Pattern:
Working on the Cuff:
Row1: ch9, 1sc on the 2nd ch from the hook, 1sc on each ch till the end (8sts)
Row2: ch1, turn. 1sc on blo of each st till the end.(8sts)
Row3-Row22: Repeat Row2.(8sts)
Hold both ends together and ch1, Slst on the blo of st of Row22 and corresponding st of Row1, till the end.
Remove your hook and turn your work inside out.
Body of Mittens:
Round1: ch1(does not count as a stitch) work 22sc evenly spaced on the ribs of the cuff. Slst on top of starting sc(22sc sts)
Round2: ch1(does not count as a stitch), 1hdc on each st around. Slst on top of starting hdc (22hdc sts)
Pebble Stitch: * yo, insert the hook in the stitch and pull up loop, * repeat from * to * twice, yo pull through all the 7 loops.
It’s a regular puff stitch except that it’s worked in the wrong side like a bobble stitch.
Round3:(worked in WS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, 1sc on the same st, 1PS on the next st, *1sc on the next st, 1PS on the next st *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc(11sc sts and 11 PS )
Round4:(worked in RS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, *1sc on top is sc of previous round, 1sc on top of PS of previous round *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc.(22sc sts)
Round5: (worked in WS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, 1PS on the same st, 1sc on the next st, *1PS on the next st, 1sc on the next st *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting PS(11 PS and 11 sc sts )
In this row we work Pebble Stitch in such a way that it’s in between the two PS of Round3.
Round6:(worked in RS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, *1hdc on top is PS of previous round, 1hdc on top of sc of previous round *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting hdc.(22hdc sts)
Round7:(worked in RS) 1bpsc,ch1 on the same st(considered as 1stbphdc), 1bphdc on each st around. Slst on top of starting bpsc,ch1.(22bphdc sts)
Now we will start working the Thumbhole.
Round8:(worked in WS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, 1sc on the same st, 1PS on the next st, *1sc on the next st, 1PS on the next st *. Repeat *to* around. Stop before the last PS, do not work a PS on the last st and do not work a Slst. (11sc sts and 10 PS )
We leave that one st space for working the thumb hole.
Round9:(worked in RS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, *1sc on top is sc of previous round, 1sc on top of PS of previous round *. Repeat *to* around.(21sc sts)
Round10: (worked in WS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, 1PS on the same st, 1sc on the next st, *1PS on the next st, 1sc on the next st *. Repeat *to* around. Stop after working last PS. Ch1. Slst on top of starting PS(11 PS and 10sc sts and 1ch1)
Round11:(worked in RS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, 1hdc on the same st, *1hdc on top is sc of previous round, 1hdc on top of PS of previous round *. Repeat *to* around. 1hdc on the ch1 sp. Slst on top of starting hdc.(22hdc sts)
Round12:(worked in RS) 1bpsc,ch1 on the same st(considered as 1stbphdc), 1bphdc on each st around. Slst on top of starting bpsc,ch1.(22bphdc sts)
Round13:(worked in RS)ch1(does not count as a st), 1sc on same st and 1sc on each st around. Slst on top of starting sc.(22sc sts). Slst. Fasten off and weave the ends.
