New Addition in the Family!. I can’t stop crocheting this cowl!. I have worked 4 so far!. It matches perfectly with our Bubble Wrap Beanie and Bubble Wrap Fingerless mittens. Come let’s see how to work this beautiful cowl!
Materials:
For Adult Size:
Yarn: I love this yarn(Hobby Lobby)
Color: Parcel & Bow
Approximately 200 yards for one Adult Size Cowl
Crochet Hook: 5mm (H Hook) (or use the hook that obtains the specified gauge)
Scissors
Leather Tags and Sewing Needles (Optional)
Gauge:
Using Size 4 Yarn and 5mm Crochet Hook work,
Row1: ch13, 1hdc on the 4th ch from the and 1hdc on each ch till the end.
Row2: ch2 turn(considered as 1st hdc), 1hdc on each till the end (11hdc sts)
Row3-7: Repeat Row2. Fasten off
It should measure 3.4” (inches) length and 3” (inches) height

We will be working on a stitch called as a Pebble Stitch which is a regular Puff Stitch except that it is worked on the Wrong Side(WS)
Pebble Stitch: * yo, insert the hook in the stitch and pull up loop, * repeat from * to * twice, yo pull through all the 7 loops.

Crochet Pattern:
Adult Size Cowl:
Round 1: Chain 80, Make sure that your chain is not twisted and work a slst on to the starting chain.
Round 2: ch3(considered as 1st dc), 1dc on the 3rd loop(back bump) of each ch around. Slst on top of starting ch3.(80 dc sts)
Round 3: 1bpsc,ch2( considered as 1st bpdc), 1fpdc on the next st, * 1bpdc on the next st and 1fpdc on the st after that *. Repeat * to * around and work a Slst on top of ch2 of the starting bpdc,ch2 (40 bpdc sts and 40 fpdc sts)
Round 4: Repeat Round3.
Round 5: ch1(does not count as st) 1hdc on the same st, 1hdc on each st around. Slst on top of starting ch2(80hdc sts)
Round 6: ch1(does not count as st), 1hdc on the 3rd loop of same st, 1hdc on the 3rd loop of each st around. Slst on top of starting ch2 (80hdc st on the 3rd loop)
Pebble Stitch: * yo, insert the hook in the stitch and pull up loop, * repeat from * to * twice, yo pull through all the 7 loops.
It’s a regular puff stitch except that it’s worked in the wrong side like a bobble stitch.
Round 7:(worked in WS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, 1sc on the same st, 1PS on the next st, *1sc on the next st, 1PS on the next st *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc(40sc sts and 40 PS )
Round 8: (worked in RS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, *1sc on top is sc of previous round, 1sc on top of PS of previous round *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc.(80sc sts)
Round 9-10: Repeat Round 7 & 8
Round 11: (worked in WS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, 1sc on the same st, 1PS on the next st, *1sc on the next st, 1PS on the next st *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc(40sc sts and 40 PS )
Round 12: (worked in RS)ch1(does not count as st), 1hdc on the same st and 1hdc on each st around. Slst on top of starting hdc (80hdc sts)
Round 13: (worked in RS) ch1(does not count as st), 1hdc on the 3rd loop of same st, 1hdc on the 3rd loop of each st around. Slst on top of starting ch2 (80hdc st on the 3rd loop)
Round 14-20: Repeat Round 7 & 13
Round 21: (worked in RS) ch3(considered as 1st dc), 1dc on each st around. Slst on top of starting ch3.(80 dc sts)
Round 22: (worked in RS)1bpsc,ch2( considered as 1st bpdc), 1fpdc on the next st, * 1bpdc on the next st and 1fpdc on the st after that *. Repeat * to * around and work a Slst on top of ch2 of the starting bpdc,ch2 (40 bpdc sts and 40 fpdc sts)
Round 23: Repeat Round 22.
Fasten off and weave the ends!.
Now you can sew in your leather tag!. (Optional)
Points to Remember:
Always note the stitch count at the end of each round and check if it matched with the count on the pattern!. In that way you will not miss or add stitches to your work!.
