I am in love with this new earrings I made. ‘Popcorn Flower’ Earrings made with Popcorn Stitch gives this earrings a very nice 3D look!. This earrings are my new favorite now!. Now let’s see how to make this cute earrings!
Materials Used:
Size8 Cotton Crochet Thread
1.25 mm Crochet Hook
Scissors
Small Pearl
Sewing Needle
Earring Hooks
White glue and water for blocking
Crochet Terms(US Terminology):
mr: Magic Ring
slst: Slip Stitch
sc: Single Crochet
ch: Chain
Now let’s see how to work popcorn stitch,
Popcorn Stitch: work 5dc on a stitch and take of the hook from your last stitch and insert your hook on the first dc and pull the loop of your last dc onto the 1st dc. This creates a 3D stitch that looks like a bud or popcorn!
Crochet Pattern:
Round1: Magic Ring. 6sc around the Magic Ring, slst on top of 1st sc(6sts)
Tighten the Magic Ring and secure it with a knot!
Before working Round2. We can see about a new stitch that we will be working that gives a nice 3D look for our earrings!. It is ‘Popcorn Stitch’. Now let’s see how this stich is worked!
Popcorn Stitch: work 5dc on a stitch and take of the hook from your last stitch and insert your hook on the first dc and pull the loop of your last dc onto the 1st dc. This creates a 3D stitch that looks like a bud or popcorn!
Round2: ch3,4dc popcorn on the 1st st. ch3. *1 Popcorn st on the next st and ch3*. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting popcorn st. (6Popcorn st with inbetween ch3 sp)
Round3: Slst on to the next ch3 sp. ch3,4dc popcorn on the 1st ch3 sp,ch3,1 more popcorn st in the same ch3 sp, ch3. * 2 popcorn st, each followed by ch3 on next ch3 sp of the previous round*. Repeat * to * around. Slst on top of starting popcorn st. (12 popcorn stitches with inbetween ch3 sp). Fasten off and weave the ends.
Stiffen the earrings and the leaves using one part water and 1 part glue mix up well. Dip your work in that solution and air dry it for a day!
