Cupid Bees…these super cute Baby Bees are very easy to make. There are fast and easy to make and are perfect for classroom valentine exchange!. You can make a bunch in less time. They are also ideal project to use up your yarn ends.
Materials Used:
Yarn: Hobby Lobby – I love this Yarn
Colors: White, Red, Rosy Cheeks, Soft White
3.5mm Crochet Hook
Scissors
Stitch Marker
Sequined Ribbons
Polyfil
Safety Eyes
White Crochet Thread
Tapestry Needle
Sewing Needle
Hot Glue Gun
Crochet Terms(US Terminology):
mr: Magic Ring
sc: Single Crochet
dc: Double Crochet
tr: Treble Crochet
slst: Slip Stitch
Crochet Pattern:
Bees:
We will need stitch markers to work this bees as we will not end each round with slst. We wil continuously start working the next round , so in order to identify the first stitch we will need a stitch marker.
With Color1:
Round1: Magic Ring, 6sc (6sts) (don’t work slst)
Round2: 2sc on each st around (12 sts)
Round3: 1sc on one st and 2sc on the next st around (18 sts)
Round4-5: 1sc on each st around (18 sts)
With Color2:
Round6-7: 1sc on each st around (18 sts)
With Color1:
Round8-9: 1sc on each st around (18 sts)
With Color2:
Round10-11: 1sc on each st around (18 sts)
With Color1:
Round12-13: 1sc on each st around (18 sts)
Round14: 1sc in one st, sc2together in next 2sts around (12 sts)
Attach the Safety Eyes.
Now Stuff the Bee with Polyfil.
Round15: sc2together in 2sts around (6 sts)
Using a Tapestry Needle sew the opening. Fasten off and weave the ends!.
Wings:(Make 2)
Now let’s make the wings. We will need to make 2 of them.
Magic ring, ch3, 2tr,3dc,ch1,1tr,ch1,3dc,2tr,ch3, slst. Now lets tighten the magic ring and secure it with a knot!. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing!.
Now Sew the Wings to the Bee with the right side facing outside!
Now with a sewing needle and white crochet thread, sew it on the side of the safety eyes for cute detailing(optional)
Now cut the sequined ribbon and paste it on the place where the wings are sewn.
Our Cute Cupid Bees are now ready. Now i just can’t stop making them!
