I was blown away by the Wind Spinner Band Wagon and I decided to jump right into it but also wanted it to fit for the season!.
How about Halloween Themed Wind Spinner??… Here it is the ‘Spooktacular Wind Spinner’ a perfect Halloween Decor which is super simple to make!
Come on let’s see how to crochet this wind spinner!
Materials Used:
Yarn: Big Twist Value
Color: Burnt Orange
Yarn: Red Hear Super Saver
Color: Black
4mm Crochet Hook
Big Lobster Claps(optional)
Dowel Stick (Small)
Chenille Sticks/Pipe Cleaners in Black
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun
Crochet Terms(US Terminology):
Ch: Chain
Slst: Slip Stitch
Dc: Double Crochet
Sts: Stitches
Crochet Pattern:
With Black Yarn:
Row1: ch103
Row2: 1dc on the 4th ch from the hook, 2dc on each chain till the end. (The turning ch3 is considered as 1st dc). (200dc)
Change the color to Orange
With Orange Yarn:
Row3: ch3(considered as 1stdc), 2dc on the same st, 3dc each st till the end (300dc sts)
Fasten off!
With Black Yarn make a big Pom Pom ( Refer Picture)
Now take 4,5 pipe cleaners and twist them in the middle as shown
Glue the center of the pipe cleaners to the black Pom Pom
Place safety eyes to the Pom Pom to make it look like a spider.
Now take a small dowel stick and roll orange yarn as shown in picture
Now add orange yarn to the center of the dowel stick and work a loop of 30 chains and work slst to starting chain and fasten off.
Add lobster claps to end of this loop , this helps the wind spinner to spin! . This is totally optional!
Now stick the Pom Pom spider to the dowel stick and then to the loop we just created!
Work a tassel and attach to the end of spiral we have created using black and orange yarn!
Now on to the top of spiral attach orange yarn and work 30 chains. Weave both end and attach the top end to the lobster claps. That’s it your Spooktacular Wind Spinner is ready!.
Hang it in your deck, porch or patio for wonderful Halloween decor!
You can alter any step on making it according to your convenience!. Play around and choose what is best for you!
