Spring Fling Crochet Headband and Coffee Cup Cozy

I totally enjoyed making this quick gift for a friend, the spring fling headband and matching cup cozy. I always look for yarn perfect for my project. I should feel the picture of something that’s done with it when I first pickup my yarn!

I’ve been wanting to try my hand on this yarn, “The Lion Brand Mandala’s Ombré Yarn”. I loved the texture of this yarn and loved it’s bright colors perfect for spring projects!. Now let’s see how to crochet this fun project!

Materials Used:

Yarn: Lion Brand Mandala Ombré

Color: Tranquil

6mm Crochet Hook

Scissors 

Tapestry Needle

Handmade Tags (Optional)

Abbreviations (US Terms):

ch: chain

slst: slip stitch

st(s): stich(es)

hdc: half double crochet

Headband:

Row1: Ch14, Slst on 2nd ch from the hook, *hdc on the next st, slst on the next st*. Repeat *to* till the end. (Starting and ending stitch will always be Slst in each row)

Row2: ch1, turn. Slst on the first st, *hdc on the next st, slst on the next st*. Repeat *to* till the end.

Row3-Row74: Repeat Row2. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Fold the ends of your work as shown in the picture and sew the ends holds both ends folded. For more clarification refer the video link. 

Turn your work inside out and your headband will be ready.

If you have your custom leather tag adding it will give a professional finish!. I bought these cute handmade tags from amazon and you can buy them from Amazon!. But this is totally optional!.

Coffee Cup Cozy:

This is exact same pattern as that of the headband but the number of rows worked only will differ. For the Cup Cozy we only work 37 rows!

Row1: Ch14, Slst on 2nd ch from the hook, *hdc on the next st, slst on the next st*. Repeat *to* till the end. (Starting and ending stitch will always be Slst in each row)

Row2: ch1, turn. Slst on the first st, *hdc on the next st, slst on the next st*. Repeat *to* till the end.

Row3-Row37: Repeat Row2. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Sew the ends exactly the same way we have done for the headband and turn your work inside out!. For more clarity refer the attached video link!
