Summer time calls for cotton projects!. I love working with this comfy cotton blend yarn from lion brand lately because I love how smooth the yarn is and how it glides through my hook!. In this post I will show you how to make this dishcloth made using waffle stitch!. It will also be a walkthrough for waffle stitch if you have not worked with this stitch already!
This entire project will approximately require less than 100yds so it’s a amazing stash buster project.

Colors: Soothing Lavender and Spectrum
4mm Crochet Hook
Scissors
Abbreviations (US Terms):
ch: chain
sp(s): space(s)
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
fpdc: front post double crochet
bpdc: back post double crochet
st(s): stich(es)
slst: slip stitch
Pattern:
Row1: ch36, 1dc on the 5ch from the hook, 1dc on each ch till the end(33dc, the turning ch3 is considered as a dc)
Row2: ch2 turn. Work 1bpdc in one st and 1fpdc in next 2sts till the end and stop before last 2sts, work 1bpdc and 1dc on top of starting ch3 in last 2sts.
Row3: ch2 turn. Work 1fpdc in one st and 2dc in next 2sts till the end and stop before the last 2sts. Work 1fpdc and 1dc on top of previous row ch2 in the last 2sts.
Row4: ch2 turn. Work 1bpdc in one st and 1fpdc in next 2sts till the end and stop before last 2sts, work 1bpdc and 1dc on top of previous row ch2 in the last 2sts.
Row5-Row16: Repeat Row3 and Row4.
Row17: Repeat Row3. Fasten off(if you are going to work a different color border else continue with the same yarn)
Border: Row1: start with a different color yarn attach the last to last row turning ch2. Ch1 1sc on the same stitch, 1sc in each st and work (1sc,ch1,1sc) on the corner stitch and work 1sc on one post and 2sc on the next post on the sides work (1sc,ch1,1sc) on the corner st. Continue working like this around. Work 1sc ch1, on the starting st where we have worked our 1sc. Slst on top of starting sc.
Row2: ch1, 1sc on the same st, 1sc in each st around and work (1sc,ch1,1sc) on the corner ch1 spaces. Continue working this way and work 1sc on last sc of the previous row, ch15 and slst on top of starting sc. Fasten off and weave your ends.
