My love for velvet yarn and it’s softness pushed me for an other velvet yarn project. I made this bag for a dear friend’s kid. I personalized the bag with her initial on it!.
You can also call it as a cuddle bag because it is so soft and cuddly!

Crochet Pattern:
Bag body(make2):
Round1: Magic Ring, ch3(considered as 1stdc), 15dc around the magic ring. Slst on top of starting ch3.(16sts)
Round2: ch3(considered as 1stdc),1dc on the same stitch. 2dc on each stitch around. Slst on top of starting ch3.(32sts)
Round3: ch1(doesn’t count as a stitch) turn, *1sc each on 3sts, 1BS on the next st*. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc. (you should have 8BS)
Round4: ch3(considered as 1st dc) turn, *1dc on the next st(on top of BS), 2dc, 1dc, 2dc respectively on next 3sts*. Repeat * to * around until you have 2sts left. 2dc,1dc each on last 2sts. 1dc on the same st where starting ch3 is worked. Slst on top of starting ch3. (48sts)
In next round we will work the BS in a way that it’s between the two BS if Round3.
Round5: ch1(doesn’t count as a stitch) turn, 1sc each in 2sts, 1BS on the next st. *1sc each on 5sts, 1BS on the next st*. Repeat *to* around stop when you have 3sts left. 1sc each on last 3sts. Slst on top of starting sc. (you should have 8BS with 5sc sts in between)
Round6: ch3(considered as 1st dc) turn,1 more dc on the same st, 1dc,2dc respectively on next 2sts. 1dc each on next 3 sts. *2dc,1dc,2dc respectively in next 3sts, 1dc each on next 3sts*. Repeat * to * around. Slst on top of starting ch3. (64sts)
Round7: ch1(doesn’t count as a stitch) turn. *1sc each on 7sts, 1BS on the next st*. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc. (you should have 8BS with 7sc sts in between)
Round8: ch1(doesn’t count as a stitch) turn. *1sc each on 3sts. 2sc in the next st, 1sc each on next 3sts, 2sc on the next st. *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc.(80sts)
Repeat the same pattern for the 2nd circle except Round8. Work Round1-Round7 with the above pattern and the following pattern for the 2nd circle for Round8.
Round8 for 2nd circle: ch1(doesn’t count as a stitch) turn. *1sc each on 3sts. 2sc in the next st, 1sc each on next 3sts, 2sc on the next st. *. Repeat *to* around stop when there are 4 sts left. 1sc on the next st. 1sc,ch7,1sc on the next st, 1sc on the next st, 2sc on the last st. Slst on top of starting sc.
Now place 2 circles in such a way that the wrong side of both the circles go inside and the right side stays outside. Now align both the circles so the each stitches on both circles are aligned.
Place the button loop circle placing the button loop on the top. Now skip 11sts from the button loop. Work slst on the blo of each st on both the circles around for next 58 sts. Do not fasten off the yarn. Work the bag straps continuously.
Strap:
Work 100 chains Slst on the starting Slst on the other side. One more Slst turn and work 100 Slst on the ch backwards. Slst on the other side where the 2 circles are joined. Fasten off and weave the ends.
Now sew a large Pearl or button or bead on the adjacent circle on the corresponding st where there is button hole.
Add a alphabet appliqué to the center of the bag using a hot glue gun (this is optional)
