I am totally into amigurumi!…why?… because they are fast, cute, my daughter just loves them!.
Here’s a super simple pattern and tutorial for working this cute amigurumi sun. I have named them as ‘Sun Buddies’. You can have them as a cute soft toy or make them as a key chain or bag tag by adding a keyring to it!
Materials Used:
Yarn: Hobby Lobby I love this Yarn
Colors: Buttercup, Yellow, Hot Rose
3.5mm Crochet Hook
Safety Eyes
Polyfil
Black Crochet Thread
Sewing Needle
Pink Felt rounds
Scissors
Super Glue
Crochet Terms (US Terminology):
mr: Magic Ring
ch: Chain
st(s): Stich(es)
sc: Single Crochet
dc: Double Crochet
slst: Slip Stitch
picot: ch3, slst on ch1
Crochet Pattern:
Working the Sun:
With Color Butter Cup:(Make2)
Round1: Magic Ring 6sc around the magic ring(6sts)
Round2: 2sc on each st around (12sts)
Round3: 1sc in one st and 2sc on the next st around (18sts)
Round4: 1sc on each stitch around (18sts)
Round5: 1sc each in two sts and 2sc on the next st around (24sts)
Round6: 1sc each in three sts and 2sc on the next st around (30sts)
Round7: 1sc on each st around(30sts)
Fasten off and work slst for the 1st circle.
When you work the 2nd circle do not fasten off.
Add safety eyes to one of the circle. Now place both the circles with the wrong side facing inside!. Work slst on the back loop of each st around!. Before finishing the slst when there is still 4,5 sts left. Stuff the Sun with polyfil. Now close the opening with Slst.(30slst sts)
Rays:
With Color Yellow:
Working on the slip stitches worked around the Sun!
Attach the yarn to any slst worked.
Ch1(doesn’t count as a st), 1sc on the same st, *ch3, (1dc, picot,1dc) on the next st, ch3, sc on the next 2sts*. Repeat *to* 9 more time(on the last repeat don’t work the last sc. Instead work slst on the starting sc). Fasten off.
Bow:
With Color Hot Rose:
Magic ring, ch2,2dc,ch2,slst,ch2,2dc,ch2,slst. Tighten the magic ring and secure it with a knot!
Now attach the bow to the Sun as shown in the pictures!.
Embroider the mouth using a black thread and sewing needle!
Make small circles on a pink felt cloth using a pencil tip!. Cut the circles and attach them to the Sun using a super glue as shown!
Tuck in all the yarn ends using a blunt tip of metal crochet hook(you can also use a small dovet stick for this)
