This Pattern includes Mermaid Tail Bottle Bag in sizes Small. A Small Bag can fit a standard 500ml water bottle and other small water bottles.

Materials:
You can use any size 4 yarn for this project.
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Stripes
Color: Retro Sripes
Approximately 135 yards of Yarn
Crochet Hook: 5mm (H Hook) (or use the hook that obtains the specified gauge)
Scissors
Sewing Needles
Gauge:
Using Size 4 Yarn and 5mm Crochet Hook work,
Row1: ch13, 1hdc on the 4th ch from the and 1hdc on each ch till the end.
Row2: ch2 turn(considered as 1st hdc), 1hdc on each till the end (11hdc sts)
Row3-7: Repeat Row2. Fasten off
It should measure 3.4” (inches) length and 3” (inches) height
We will be working on a stitch called as a Pebble Stitch which is a regular Puff Stitch except that it is worked on the Wrong Side(WS)
Pebble Stitch: * yo, insert the hook in the stitch and pull up loop, * repeat from * to * twice, yo pull through all the 7 loops.
Skill Level: Intermediate
In this pattern we will work with two colors of yarn. However you can make the entire messy bun hat in a single color as well.

Small Size Bottle Bag:
Round 1: Magic Ring, ch1(does not count as a stitch), 10hdc sts on the magic ring.Slst on top of starting hdc st(10sts)
Round 2: ch1(does not count as a stitch), 2hdc sts on each st around. Slst on top of starting hdc st(20sts)
Round 3: ch1(does not count as a stitch),1hdc in one st and 2hdc sts on next st around. Slst on top of starting hdc st(30sts)
Round4: ch1(does not count as a stitch),1hdc in the blo of each st around. Slst on top of starting hdc st(30sts)
Round5: ch1(does not count as a stitch),1hdc in the third loop of each st around. Slst on top of starting hdc st(30sts)
Pebble Stitch: * yo, insert the hook in the stitch and pull up loop, * repeat from * to * twice, yo pull through all the 7 loops.
It’s a regular puff stitch except that it’s worked in the wrong side like a bobble stitch.
Pebble Stitch Row is always worked in the Wrong Side
Round6:(worked in WS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, 1sc on the same st, 1PS on the next st, *1sc on the next st, 1PS on the next st *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting sc(15sc sts and 15PS )
Round7:(worked in RS) ch1(does not count as st) turn, *1hdc on top is sc of previous round, 1hdc on top of PS of previous round *. Repeat *to* around. Slst on top of starting hdc.(30hdc sts)
Round8: (worked in RS) ch1(does not count as st), 1hdc on the 3rd loop of the same st. 1hdc on 3rd loop of each st around. Slst on top of 1st hdc st(30hdc sts)
Round9-20 Repeat Round 6-8
Round21: ch1(does not count as st), slst on each st around. (30sts). Do not fasten off, work the straps for the Bag
Working the Straps:
Small Strap(For Small Kids):
slst on the next st, work 65 chains, skip 14sts, make sure the chain is not twisted and slst on next 2sts. ch1 and work slst on each chain backwards. Skip 14sts, slst on the next st.
Big Strap(For Big Kids):
slst on the next st, work 88 chains, skip 14sts, make sure the chain is not twisted and slst on next 2sts. ch1 and work slst on each chain backwards. Skip 14sts, slst on the next st.
Mermaid Tail:
Row1: ch20, 1sc on 2nd chain from the hook, 1sc on each st on next 18 ch(19sts)
Row2: ch1,turn, 1sc on the blo of each st on next 17sts,sc2together on the blo of last 2sts(18sts)
Row3: ch1,turn, sc2together on the blo of first 2sts, 1sc on the blo of each st till the end(17sts)

Add a Tapestry Needle to the tail and work through the ribbing along the flat side as shown!
Now sew the Mermaid tail to the bottom of the bottle bag as shown!
Weave the ends!

I am sorry for this comment..I had no idea that that was instructions for guage..usually it just says to chain whatever and do a few rows in the choice of yarn and it should measure..whatever. Sorry for the comment
