A few days ago news about Harry Styles went viral when he was shooting for his new music video near Buckingham Palace. He was seen sporting a bright knit scarf in his PJs. I wanted to make a crocheted version of the scarf and immediately sprung into action.
Although I got all the supplies needed for this scarf and started the project after pictures went viral, I was able to finish the scarf just now as I was sticky with my other projects.
If you follow me I have made Harry Styles Cardigan earlier, video tutorial link below 👇
Materials Used:
Yarn: Loops and Thread, Impeccable
Color: Grass
Yarn: Big Twist, Soft
Color: Blush
5mm Crochet Hook
Scissors
Crochet Terms(US Terminology):
ch: Chain
st(s): Stitch(es)
slst: Slip Stitch
blo: Back Loop
sc: Single Crochet
Crochet Pattern:
With Color Grass:
Row1: ch18, 1sc on the 3rd loop of the 2nd ch from the hook. 1sc on the 3rd loop of each ch till the end.(17sc sts)
Row2: ch1 turn, 1sc on the blo loop of each st till the end(17blo sc sts)
Row3-Row22: Repeat Row2.
After Row22. Slst Fasten off and change the color.
With Color Blush:
Join the yarn on the same side were we have started our previous swatch.
Row1: ch18, 1sc on the 3rd loop of the 2nd ch from the hook. 1sc on the 3rd loop of each ch till the end.(17sc sts)
Now before working Row2 in the new swatch work 2slst one on the space between the ridge of the previous swatch and one one the ridge of the previous swatch. These 2slst does not count as a stitch. We do this every time when we are about the start the next row after joining the previous swatch. These 2slst are worked just to join the previous swatch to the new swatch.
So make sure you don’t work sc on the Slst when we turn and work the blo sc for the new row.
Row2:1sc on the blo loop of each st till the end(17blo sc sts)
Row3: ch1 turn, 1sc on the blo loop of each st till the end(17blo sc sts)
Row4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20: Repeat Row2.
Row5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19,21: Repeat Row3
After Row22. Slst Fasten off and change the color.
Keep changing the color of yarn after working 22 rows and repeat the above steps.
Always count the number of stitches at the end each row!. So that you don’t add extra stiches at the end of each row!
Each swatch with one color measures about 5.5 inches in length and 5 inches in height
I worked 13 swatches by alternating the colors. You can increase/decrease the number of swatches according to your need!
After working all the swatches, weave all the odd ends and trim the ends.
Fringes:
Cut 24 yarn strings each measuring roughly about 55inches. Fold each string into 4 and add one fringe on each ridge on 1each on the last row either side!
I added 12 fringes on one side of the scarf!
After adding all the fringes you cut the ends and level them using a scissors.
